John the Baptist – a human signpost

Did you ever get lost on a country back road and hope you would come across a sign post somewhere, to show you the way?

It seems to me that John the Baptist is like a signpost, pointing the way to Jesus He announced the coming of the Messiah. John’s birth was a happy event like the birth of any baby arriving safely into the world - directly from God and full of potential. A baby full of gentleness.

Jesus Said, ‘you must become like little children’.

Is John the Baptist the signpost pointing back to myself, to the awakening of Jesus in me, pointing to who I really am? Can I say “thank you for the wonder of my being”.

Am I also John the Baptist, pointing the way to others by living the truth of myself?
Am I pretending to be someone I’m not? Am I wearing a mask?

Do I speak and live my truth? My body knows if I speak my truth.

John the Baptist – a human signpost, announcing the coming of Jesus Christ and pointing me back to myself and reminding me to point the way for others.
