Increase our faith
Faith is like a well; its water is deep, refreshing, fed by the stream of living water from God; it started like a trickle of baptismal water, now it is deeper, and we draw on it for meaning, compassion and God’s love.
Be grateful for faith, the gift of God. Be patient with its growth.
A stone thrown into a well immediately upsets the water at the top, but as it falls it upsets less until it hardly disturbs the deep water, the place of peace and silence, that place of deep faith, at the bottom of the well. For in the bottom of the well is the home of God and nobody can destroy that home within us.
We are grateful for the water that lasts forever, that springs up inside us for eternal life: Jesus, the life of God, the life of the world.
