Afterward Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said, "This is what the LORD , the God of Israel, says: 'Let my people go, so that they may hold a festival to me in the desert." (2 Exodus 5:1)

Fayre

Introduction

The Summer Fayre takes place on the second Sunday in June every year and is a major social and fund-raising event. An estimated two thousand people come to the event which is held in the church gardens on a sunny afternoon. (Yes, it usually is sunny - we have good connections!)

The event includes live entertainment on stage throughtout the afternoon, many stalls from food including African dishes, Irish Smoked Salmon, Strawberry Tea, Vegetarian Dishes, BBQ, cakes, Portuguese tarts, Irish coffee and icecream. There is a large collection of  books  on sale, plants and  bric-a-brac. For the children lots of games, pony rides and a large jumpy castle. There is a bar with draught Guinness for the adults. Finally there is a Giant Tombola with lots of wondeful prizes, that is drawn on the day. Several hundred parishioners get involved in one way or another in the preparation and running of this event, which brings people together and raises a large proportion of the funds needed to keep our community going. If you would like to volunteer to help and/or to be a sponsor, please contact Yvonne Nielsen.
