Meet & Greet

Introduction

Once a year, the Parish organises a welcome party to new parishioners. This has taken different forms over the years, but currently we are doing a barbecue, with salads and deserts provided “pot luck” by parishioners and a sunny afternoon provided by God (so far!).

We welcome all new parishioners (that is to say, anyone who has not yet been to this event) to come and meet us and get the proverbial “free lunch”. While you are with us, we gently suggest you might like to find an area of Parish life in which you would like to participate. Existing parishioners, who perhaps benefited from this pleasant event last year, are asked to come along and bring a dish with which to greet these new friends. Parish organisers are asked to attend so we can invite newcomers to join in with our many different activities.

Meet & Greet 2009 -  Sunday 13th September

The Parish, “Meet & Greet” will take place this year on th 13th of  September. If you are willing to help out, contact Barry O’Halpin on 0472 960 506. To encourage participation “goodies” may be on offer! As each year , the Knights of St. Thomas More will prepare for the Parishioners one of their justly reputed BBQ lunches, and many parishioners will contribute with a side dish or a dessert.

This event will also be registration day for new parishioners, and for the Catechetic classes of our Sunday school. Most classes will begin on Sunday 27 September. The timetable for classes in 2008:2010 can be seen on the Catechetics notice board in the Parish Hall.

If you want to find out more, please read the  message of Barry O'Halpin, the Deputy chair of the Parish Pastoral Council. You can also find interesting information in the Meet & Greet issue of our Newsletter, "Parish Life".

There is a picture gallery of last year's event. Take a look at it clicking here.
