Update from the Parish Finance Council

Kraineem (14 August 2004)

The Parish Finance council meets regularly and examines all financial aspects associated with the running of St. Anthony’s.

During the past year we have been monitoring the major expenses which occur and also the major sources of income which are vital to support the Parish.

Our major sources of funds are standing orders; weekly basket collections; the Parish fayre and donations from the parishoners. All of these are significant and important.

We have also looked at the costs associated with improvements to the church and facilities here at St. Anthony’s – and over the past year you may have noticed some significant improvements: e.g. fencing around the grounds, new pathways and gates, outside lighting, maintenance to the church.

The most recent improvement which you will see is a major upgrade and refurbishment to the building beside our car park – which now gives us a bright new classroom for our children when classes will re-start after the summer. This is something we have needed for some time as we did not have sufficient class space - now we have this and the classrooms will be less crowded and we will not have to use local facilities.

This is been made possible from a single donation from a very kind parishioner – to whom we are very grateful.

We have a committed group of money counters who every Monday sort and bank the weekly collections.

Without all this help – we could not survive – so a big thanks to everyone.

If you would like to support the parish financially – you could take out a standing order to support St. Anthony’s (average is 40/50 €/month) to a/c number: 310-0722589-25. This will help us with running the parish and to make further improvements.

If you would like to volunteer to help with counting of money or to work on the Parish Finance Council – call Liam Breslin at 02/767.02.81.

Thanks for all your support!
