Close to the Lord in the silence
By Felicity Falempin
Kraainem (04 September 2007).- September marks the start of the second year of First Friday Adoration in our parish. This is a very simple devotion which involves sitting quietly for several minutes before the Eucharist.
These moments spent in silent prayer are a great way to start a new month as they provide an oasis of peace in the midst of our very busy lives. It is a special time when in the stillness, we are able to listen what God wants to say to us. Catholics around the world have worshipped and prayed in this way for at least 750 years.
“The time you spend with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament is the best time you will spend on earth. Each moment that you spend with Jesus will deepen your union with Him and make your soul everlastingly more glorious and beautiful in Heaven, and will help bring about everlasting peace on earth.” Mother Teresa of Calcutta.
You are most welcome to come on the first Friday of every month from 7pm until 8pm in the small chapel inside the church.
