MINUTES OF THE PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL 
HELD ON TUESDAY 11 OCT. 2005

Fr. John Kealy, Fr. Vincent Gallogley, Barry O’Halpin, Paddy McEneaney, Walter Huyghe, Horst Dengler, Yvonne Nielsen, Mark Price, Yvonne Stausbøll, Brigid Alty.

Walter said the opening prayer and the meeting began at 19.40 hrs.

MATTERS ARISING FROM THE SEPTEMBER MINUTES:
Youth group was a great success – 40 people attending
Rosary is going well
Sacristan situation remains « murky » and needs to be addressed
The September minutes were approved

MAINTENANCE:
Fr. Vincent reported: performance of Peter de Vries – no supervision- was very unsatisfactory; garages cannot be used; Johny Van Der Bracht as interface needs to help.
Paddy reported: office almost finished
gutters still need to be fixed
the insurance situation needs to be clarified (Jeff Thompson) and
contracts need to be reviewed

Actions to be taken: - ask Johny to check / install sensors for the alarms in the 
Parish Hall and the class rooms 
- Path from Church to side gate needs fixing
- Remind people (in Words/from Altar) to respect the grounds 
and not use them for parking

CATECHETICS:
Fr. Vincent praised the work done, music at 10.00h mass so much better;

[He also mentioned in this context that condolences should be expressed to Brian’s sister for loss of brother in law; also to David Daly for the loss of his mother].

WORSHIP:
Training worked very well, some word is needed to tell people how to receive communion properly;
Sacristans: - Need to be trained
Fr. Vincent insisted on high standards
- Schedule needed;
- 6 to 8 peoples committed
- Need for coordinator; Mark will contact Oneil D’Sa to see if more volunteers available – names will be given to Barry

Rota for Sacristy is not working
Needed: Notice to be placed on Board in Sacristy including details on Charity Appeals 


EVANGELISATION:
About 30 people signed up; people feel welcome; more details on the subject matter should be mentioned beforehand; 19 Nov. at the Centre in Uccle ‘Living our Faith’ course


CHRISTMAS CALENDAR:
Fr. Vincent stressed the need to establish the dates: 

Penitential Service for Advent on Sat. Dec. 10, at 17.00hrs followed by Mass - needs to be announced early and widespread. 
Penitential Service for Christmas on Sat. Dec. 17 at 17.00hrs (not connected to Mass)

HOLIDAY SERVICES:
Dec. 24 Sat. Children’s Mass at 19.00 hrs
Midnight Mass at 23.30 hrs (musicians needed)
Dec. 25 Sun. Mass at 11.30 hrs (musicians needed)
Dec. 31 Sat. Mass at 18.00 hrs
Jan. 1 Sun. Mass at 10.00 hrs
11.30 hrs
Jan. 6 Frid. Mass at 11.00 hrs (in church)

Other events
Dec. 18 Sun. Christmas Carols

Parish Christmas Dinner still to be determined (tentatively Dec. 10 at 19.30 hrs)
Sinterklaas still to be determined (tentatively after 10.00 Mass on Dec. 4)

A.O.B.:
- Tues. Dec. 13 - confirmed meeting of PC and PFC
- Barry mentioned Fiona should be commended for taking over the editorial work from Paddy and a card should be sent to Mora McGrath
- Appeal for Standing Order – forms in Words (Paddy)
- Contributions for special disasters (Y. Stausbøll)
-People who we prayed for and who recovered should be mentioned (e-mail Fr. Vincent)
- « disturbance » by crying children in Mass no solution – « crying room » not really feasible
- Help for people who struggle with lack of contacts/loneliness – explore with Chris de Fortis’s group might help
