Veillée de Prières Novembre 1:
The European Council of Bishops has sponsored many huge events in the capital cities of Europe and it is Belgium’s turn in 2006. It is called Toussaint2006 and the Diocese is involving all the parishes and churches to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ in a new way. Parishes are taking it up with great enthusiasm and we need to get involved and make it a priority. So for the December meeting, we should read up on the proposals which will be available shortly. There is a website: www.bruxelles-toussaint2006.be and information is available in English.
Crèche:
Every year, there is an exhibition of crèches in St. Michel and all foreign language communities are asked to provide a crib reflecting their national identity. Fr. Vincent requested that the Knights and Walter would provide our crib again this year. The exhibition runs from 3 December so it needs to be in place by the afternoon of Friday 2 December.
Youth Group:
Dorothy Boyer sent an outline of proposals regarding the running and financing of the Youth Group. There was abroad principle of support from the Council but the finances need further investigation. N.B. The value of the Ministry is not in question. It has been passed to the Finance Council to frame options, with the backing of the Parish Council.
Dorothy has also requested more helpers.
Forthcoming events:
Quiz Night: 25 November at 20.00
Sterrebeek Concert: 15 December at 20.00 at St Pancratiuskerk, Sterrebeek
Carol Concert: 18 December at 16.30
The next meeting, on Tuesday 13 December at 19.30, will be a meeting of both the Parish and Finance Councils with the aim of discussing joint issues.
Fr. John said the closing prayer and the meeting ended at 21.35.
