Present:

Fr. Vincent Gallogley, Fr. John Kealy, Dan Nickerson, Judith Carr, Mark Price, Bernie Lindop, Yvonne Nielsen, Yvonne Stausbøll, Walter Huyghe, Brigid Alty and Lori Urbanek.

Apologies:

Barry O’Halpin, Brian O’Neill, Johny Van Der Bracht and Horst Dengler.

Matters Arising from the December Minutes:

All Saints November 1: Fr. Vincent will send any information he receives to Dan so that he can start to share it with the Council. St. Anthony’s Parish needs to get involved with this.
Youth Group: Dorothy is still sick. The group met on Jan 8 but was very small; there are fears that if some extra help isn’t forthcoming, it may not be able to continue.
Alpha: the combined course is being planned to run from March to May and will be held at St Anthony’s; the steering committee is meeting on 12 January. The course will run for 10 weeks and will include one retreat weekend. Barry will have more details.
The December Minutes were approved.

Fr Vincent will be celebrating, with the Parish, the 40th anniversary of his ordination on March 5. Additionally, he will go to Ireland later in the month for a further celebration. It is also his 70th birthday on March 10.

Charity Appeals:

The January appeal for Oasis will be held on 21/22 January; this is slightly later than usual.
The Council discussed the charities which have contacted the Parish with regard to making an appeal to see which ones should be put into the 4 remaining Lenten slots. African Enterprise will come on March 11/12 and Nigel Walker will give the homily at the Masses. It was decided to give 2 of the other 3 slots to Alternatives (Brussels) and the Kinderkankerfonds (Belgium) as they would benefit more than larger organisations. Yvonne will come back to the next meeting with further information on Comise to see whether they should be given the 3rd slot.

There was no AOB.

The meeting ended at 8.45 and Fr. Vincent said the closing prayer.
